Awesome list jop! Those are great insights on investing and money management.
I totally agree with you jop about the software business part. That's one of my hesitations about starting a software business. I dont want to be away from my code window. I'd rather spend time banging my hands on a piece of code than talking to clients because i look at programming as a hobby and treat it as the equivalent of the classical crossword puzzles in the morning.
I was also considering consulting as an option or better yet just go around schools and conduct tech seminars for free just to kill time Hehe!
You are right about the huge house, I think a huge house is a luxury. I don't like it at all. The upkeep is pretty big plus you need to hire a maid or two to help you maintain the house and somebody else to maintain the lawn. It would also teach you to be lazy because someone else is doing your task for you.
Patak patak na kayo! Maganda naman gagawin ko sa pera natin eh.

I like the idea too. We have developers of all kinds here in DevPinoy, we has graphic artists, photo enthusiasts, technical people., what else?I think a directory of talents is a great start . As for validating the skills, I can't think of anything, maybe BrainBench like exam will do, plus an online portfolio? with DevPinoy certification logo maybe. We can create a new thread for the discussion
