kung sino man sa inyo ang may alam sa games development or game developer ka, pede po ba pa evaluate ng aming thesis? ung thesis namin ay tungkol sa game engine na gawa sa Microsoft XNA Framework, or para syang plug-in ng Visual C# designed for game development.

Kung interested ka, post ka nalang dito.

Thanks!

What do you mean by "Pa-evaluate"?

Btw, ung game engine po namin is gawa sa C# and XNA Framework. XNA Framework po kasi ung latest technology ng microsoft for XBOX360 and PC (Windows Platform) games development. so un.

Kung may tanong pa po kayo, please don't hesitate. Thank you po ulit!

I see... try contacting roogz (http://rcortesjr.blogspot.com/). He built his own game and game engine which you can find here (http://rcortesjr.blogspot.com/search/label/Game%20Development). You can also talk to lamia, who like roogz built his own game engine.

I know someone who builds XNA games... may be you can email him and ask him to do you a favor by looking at your game engine (http://geekswithblogs.net/cwilliams/Default.aspx). You can also ask DexterZ++ (http://projectzgdk.spaces.live.com/), a pinoy XNA hobbyist.

I'm no C# developer but I've written my own game in C++ with Allegro game library. May instructions ba kung pano setup yung engine nyo? I think I have VS.net 2005 installed in my machine.

I'm also a game developer using SDL, OpenGL and Direct3D libraries with C++ language., I don't have any experience using XNA framework other than following through some samples floating on the internet --  the idea of additional overhead of having to run my game on top of another platform (.NET) is scary Big Smile

(That alone makes me unqualified to evaluate anything XNA., since I'm bias to native coded games)

First and foremost, Thanks sa mga interested.

Anyway, cvega, you are actually qualified for evaluation. Why? Since u r using OpenGL Direct3D, tapos sa c++ ka pa nagproprogram, i think you have more knowledge about game development and that alone makes you qualified as our evaluator.

Anyway, ganito kasi ung setup ng aming thesis. Dahil ang target namin is usability, gumawa kami ng mga modules in  a form of a GUI editor. namely, character, level and rule. Tapos ang crucial module ng aming thesis is the Game Engine itself. It works like a simulator.

Since this is a prototype. hindi kami nag sama ng Artificial Intelligence (kasi noob pa kami don to tell you honestly). So instead, nag implement kami ng networking. Therefore, para ma enjoy ung game engine namin, kelangan naka LAN ung mga PCs. so basically yan ang overview nung thesis namin.

Next is ung tungkol sa XNA. Actually, kaya namin sya pinili kasi mas madali ang game development ng game sa XNA. kung familiar ka sa C#, basically, ung mga namespaces non, classes etc ay nadagdagan and they are designed for game development. Bagong technology lang kasi sya ng Microsoft designed specifically for PC and XBOX 360 games development. Kaso, since bagong technology sya, mejo may kahirapan ang deployment. ang dami nyang software pre-requisites na kailangan for it to run. But we are trying to find a way para ma simplify ung installation. kasi nung nag initial test kami sa deployment, kelangan nakainstall ung C# express (free yan) and naka SP1 sya.

Kaya lang kasi ako nag hahanap ng evaluators kasi para habang maaga palang, makumpleto ko na ung quota ng panelists namin as evaluators for our engine, which is 10. so far, I have 4 na sure na. They are flash game developers so they have knowledge in game development, and that makes them qualified. So you to, cvega, is qualified, in fact over qualified hahaha kasi may alam ka talaga sa technicalities ng OpenGL and DirectX which is also implemented sa XNA.

So un po, but since u r developing ur own game using C++, you are very qualified to be our evaluator kasi may alam ka po sa game development hehe. So un po.
