I don't have any idea about either SUSE or Slackware but ubuntu(Gnome) and Kubuntu(KDE) is given and mailed free of charge.  And I kinda like ubuntu of all the distros.  Ubuntu + Beryl = better looking than Vista. :*)

I have 3 CD of ubuntu here, but i dont find any interest in using them, that's why im looking around for another distros.

Any of you know how to connect a dial up connection in linux? And Im using an internal modem here. Thats why it's hard to configure. Maybe, if i know how to connect, probably ill use ubuntu linux.
